The Christian faith originated from the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is also the most widespread and diverse belief system. Christianity commenced with the ministry of Jesus, a Jewish teacher, and healer who proclaimed the imminent kingdom of God.

BBC Four is currently showing an excellent documentary series on the history of Christianity presented by Oxford scholar Diarmaid MacCulloch. You can catch the progress on BBC iPlayer.

This was a really great intresting program i have learned alot about Christianity from it. The program is currentley being shown again on BBC three you can watch all the episodes (There are 6) on the BBC iplayer.

Found the Gerry Adams one highly amusing. The multiple attempts by him to compare the Romans with the British government in N.Ireland was rather quite funny. At one stage I almost thought he was going to compare himself to Jesus ….it really was that strange

I think Gerry was spot on in trying to compare the Romans with the British in the North of Ireland.

The British never invaded Ireland. The Vikings? Yes. The English? Yes……but sure it was the Pope who initiated the English King Henry II to invade. The king was only doing what the pontiff wanted him to do, invade Ireland "for the correction of morals and the introduction of virtues, for the advancement of the Christian religion."
