Can you help us protect and advance Christian values in Australia?
Please help us protect and advance Christian values, freedoms and principles in our Australian Government. We can have the most impact when we pass laws to prevent the bad and promote the good. Families, albeit diverse, should be protected and strengthened, since they are the primary grouping in which the future generations are nurtured.
Why vote 1 for Australian Christians?
Australian Christians aim to cultivate a culture where life is celebrated and treasured and where every individual is valued. We value our Aboriginal brothers and sisters. We aim to bring reconciliation and healing through open conversation and locally driven solutions. Voting 1 for Australian Christians is never a wasted vote.
What is an example of a tribute in the Bible?
We find a good example of a tribute in the writings of Paul the Apostle, especially in his short, one chapter, 25 verse letter to Philemon. Philemon is to a man we hardly know in history, except that Paul wrote this short letter to him.
Are our human tributes to one another faulty?
On the other hand, our human tributes can be very faulty. In most of the letters of Paul, he starts with a greeting to the person or persons he’s writing to, then continues with a thanksgiving prayer related to the good things those people are doing.

What is the letter to Philemon?
Paul’s Letter to Philemon. We find a good example of a tribute in the writings of Paul the Apostle, especially in his short, one chapter, 25 verse letter to Philemon. Philemon is to a man we hardly know in history, except that Paul wrote this short letter to him. As we see in the greeting (versus 1-3), Paul was actually writing to a group …
Why did Philemon ask Onesimus to take him back?
That’s because, he was going to ask a very difficult thing of Philemon. He was asking Philemon to receive back Onesimus, who had been Philemon’s slave and who had run away (and tradition says he had possibly stolen some goods from Philemon’s house), and to take him back in, not as a slave, but as a brother in Christ.
What would have happened if Philemon had not been a good man?
If Philemon had not been a good man, Paul would not have opened this letter to him this way. Paul would probably have corrected him, as he does to some people in other letters, such as the letter to the Corinthians.
Why does Paul pray in Philemon’s house?
Why Paul Prays. "Because I keep hearing of your trust in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people.". Paul is great in the sight of God, because he took everything to God in prayer.
What is a tribute in the Bible?
The principle to keep in mind, when giving a tribute, is that we are thanking God for the good He is doing, or has done, in the person (or persons). As I write this, I am doing the section on pastor appreciation, but it can be applied to other types of tributes as well.
What does it mean when you gossip?
When you gossip, you’re talking to the wrong people.
Why should God be our closest friend?
God should be our closest friend, before everyone else. Because everyone else, even our "closest friends" are human, can’t be with us all the time, and will fail or disappoint us at one time or other. From Paul’s example, when we hear news, good or bad, this is material to bring to God, and tell him about it.
